Capital Normal University Held Hong Kong Secondary School Delegation for Mainland Exchange Program

On March 12, Capital Normal University (CNU) welcomed 78 teachers and students from the "Journey of Shared Miles – Hong Kong Secondary School Students Mainland Exchange Program" for a cultural and academic exchange. The visit, coordinated by the Communist Youth League Beijing Municipal Committee, fostered dialogue between educators and students from Beijing and Hong Kong. Wang Daguan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of CNU, along with Wang Xun, Secretary of the University Communist Youth League Committee, and Mao Jiapeng, Deputy Secretary, warmly greeted the delegation.

During a welcoming ceremony, Wang Daguan presented representatives from Hong Kong’s Fukien Secondary School and Mu Kuang English School with a calligraphy masterpiece,  Chinese Traditional Virtues in Ancient Admonitions, penned by renowned scholar Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi. In return, the Hong Kong delegation gifted their school flags, symbolizing cultural and educational solidarity between the two regions.

The delegation visited the University History Museum, the Geological Museum of the School of Resources, Environment and Tourism, and the Fossil Specimen Hall of the School of Life Sciences. They attended a special lecture titled "Youth and Volunteerism," gaining comprehensive insights into the university’s volunteer service programs. Later, in Classroom 105 on the 4th floor of the Teaching Building on the main campus, Wang Haolei from the Admissions and Career Office delivered a presentation about the university’s educational profile and elaborated on its specific admission policies for Hong Kong students.

This exchange activity not only strengthened friendships between students from both regions but also provided Hong Kong youth with an in-depth understanding of mainland higher education systems and teaching methodologies. In the future, the Communist Youth League of the University will continue to actively organize and participate in youth exchange programs between Beijing and Hong Kong, contributing to the mutual growth and shared development of young people from both areas.
