Recently, the Targeted Poverty Alleviation Work Symposium organized by the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) was held in Anlong County, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. Song Jun, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Capital Normal University, and Feng Feng, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Research, were invited to attend the meeting. The symposium was addressed by Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, and chaired by Wang Gang, Vice Chairman of the CAPD Central Committee.

In his speech, Song Jun emphasized that Capital Normal University has always adhered to its founding mission of prioritizing teacher education ("Shoushi Xing Shi") and remains committed to advancing high-quality educational collaboration. The university has actively supported the CAPD Central Committee in targeted poverty alleviation efforts through three key initiatives:

Pioneering the "Kaiming Sports" Program: Promoting comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education, achieving remarkable results.

Advancing the "Kaiming Reading" Initiative: Igniting new hope for education in mountainous regions by enhancing literacy and access to resources.

Deepening Local Sports Development: Focusing on county-level sports resources, particularly in basketball, dance, and soccer, to foster unique sports brands for schools ("One School, One Specialty").

Cai Dafeng highly commended the contributions of Capital Normal University and other institutions to the CAPD’s poverty alleviation efforts. He stressed that targeted poverty alleviation is integral to China’s national rejuvenation and the building of a modern socialist country, reflecting the strengths of the nation’s institutional framework.
