Beyond Form, Capturing Spirit: Achievement Exhibition of Beijing Freehand Flower-and-Bird Painting Youth Talent Program Opened

On April 11, the "Beyond Form, Capturing Spirit: Achievement Exhibition of Beijing Freehand Flower-and-Bird Painting Inheritance and Innovation Youth Talent Development Program" opened at the Art Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University. Experts from institutions such as the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chinese National Academy of Arts, and Central Academy of Fine Arts, along with university leaders, faculty, and students totaling over 100 attendees, participated in the opening ceremony. The event was hosted by Liu Rui, Party Committee Secretary of the Academy of Fine Arts.

Wang Daguang, Deputy Party Secretary of CNU, praised the academy’s "open, diverse, and innovative" educational philosophy and the program’s groundbreaking efforts in traditional art revitalization. Dean Wang Haibin highlighted the program’s integration of artistic creation, talent cultivation, academic research, and public aesthetic education. Scholar Yin Shuyu commended the fresh vitality in the exhibited works, while senior professor Zong Yanfu urged young artists to deepen their engagement with tradition. Trainee representative Zhang Yingqi pledged to advance the contemporary evolution of freehand flower-and-bird painting. Vice Dean Sun Di emphasized ongoing academic exploration to sustain the program’s legacy. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of completion certificates to participants.
