The Library Held a Themed Lecture on "The Charm and Power of Classics"

In the afternoon of March 27, Han Yongjin, the Chairman of the National Library Council, was invited to give a special lecture titled "The Charm and Power of Classics" at the Reading Forum of Capital Normal University Library. He also donated a complete set of 80 volumes of "Hundreds of Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture" to the library. President Fang Fuquan attended the donation ceremony and accepted the donation, expressing gratitude to Han Yongjin for his support of the university's cultural construction.

The lecture was jointly organized by the library and the School of Literature, with over a hundred teachers and students present to listen. Han Yongjin systematically elaborated on three main themes: the value of studying classical texts, the charm of culture, and reading methods. He emphasized the civilizational genes contained in Chinese classics and the insights their ideas provide for contemporary global governance. He pointed out that classics are carriers of the national spirit and proposed a learning pathway of "pursuing where interest leads, persisting with dedication, and reciting classics," encouraging teachers and students to deeply explore the wisdom of classics and integrate it into modern life.

The interactive session received enthusiastic responses, with students expressing their intention to practice the methods of classics study. As an academic brand that has been running for ten years, the "Reading Forum" continues to invite renowned scholars to give lectures. This session not only deepened the understanding of traditional culture but also highlighted the vitality of classics in the new era. Our university will continue to expand the platform and promote cultural education work.
