Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine Conducted Academic Exchange Activities at CNU

Marshall, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, renowned Australian medical scientist and microbiologist, and Clinical Professor of Microbiology at the University of Western Australia, paid a visit to our university upon invitation and delivered an exceptional academic lecture for faculty and students.
As an eminent representative in the international medical community, Professor Marshall is globally celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) research.
Ma Ligeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, held cordial talks with Professor Marshall and his delegation, expressing anticipation for deepened collaboration with the University of Western Australia in talent cultivation and scientific research. Wang Haiyan, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, emphasized the importance of internationalized training in nurturing top-notch innovative talents from the perspective of undergraduate education. Professor Marshall spoke highly of our university’s educational philosophy and expressed strong confidence in future cooperation across talent development and scientific innovation.
Subsequently, under the moderation of Vice President Ma Ligeng, Professor Marshall delivered an academic lecture titled “Theory and Practice: Research Driven by Innovation and Curiosity” in Classroom 101 of Teaching Building No.1. The lecture demonstrated both scientific rigor and humanistic insight, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the audience. Conducted both online and offline, the event was simultaneously broadcast through the “Capital General Education Lecture Hall” program under the Normal Education Collaborative Quality Enhancement Project, further advancing institutional synergy and effectiveness.
During the symposium, Professor Marshall provided expert guidance on cutting-edge issues including AI applications in scientific research and H. pylori prevention, while offering valuable career advice to young scholars drawn from his personal experiences.
