Number of hits:Recently, with Capital Normal University as the first author affiliation, the team of Professor Song Weixing from the School of Chemical Sciences of our university published a research paper titled "A Layer-by-Layer Self-Assembled Biomacromolecule Film for Stable Zinc Anode" in the top international journal of materials science, Advanced Materials.
In order to respond to the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and achieve the energy conservation and emission reduction goals, adjusting the energy structure is an imperative energy revolution. The innovation of energy storage technology is a crucial part of this energy revolution. Among them, rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries are considered as promising next-generation energy storage devices due to their abundant zinc deposits, inherent safety, and low-cost aqueous electrolyte and manufacturing processes. However, the instability of zinc anodes hinders the large-scale application of aqueous zinc-ion batteries. Under the joint guidance of Professor Song Weixing and Professor Fan Hongjin from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the team has developed a layer-by-layer self-assembled biomacromolecule film for stable zinc anodes, significantly inhibiting the side reactions such as dendrite formation and hydrogen precipitation, and achieving a long cycle life of the battery, which is of great significance for promoting the industrialization of zinc metal batteries.
