The 6th Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Frontier Innovation Forum of Capital Normal University Held Grandly

Number of hits:The 6th Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Frontier Innovation Forum, sponsored by Capital Normal University and co-organized by the Academy for Multidisciplinary Studies, School of Mathematical Sciences, and Beijing National Center for Applied Mathematics, was grandly held on January 5. Focused on the exchange of frontier issues in mathematics, statistics and related interdisciplinary fields, the forum attracted 56 young scholars from multiple well-known universities, research institutions and technology enterprises in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China) and the Chinese mainland to deliver reports.
In the speech, Miu Jin xiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Capital Normal University (CNU), extended sincere greetings and warm welcome to the young scholars present on behalf of CNU. He also introduced the development situation of CNU, the positioning, objectives and achievements of the Academy for Multidisciplinary Studies over the years. He stressed that holding this forum is of great significance for gathering outstanding young scholars to discuss academic frontier issues and promote interdisciplinary research and cooperation. Also, he expected the youth to be era pioneers, take the initiative to serve major national strategic demands, and facilitate the development of CNU with concerted efforts.
Li Hailiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CNU, emphasized the development process and achievements of mathematics-based interdisciplinary courses. He stated that CNU would provide a solid guarantee for the development of mathematics and its interdisciplinary subjects, fueling the leapfrog development of more disciplines.
The three-day event included four sub-forums with different themes, namely Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics and Optimization, Computer and Artificial Intelligence, and Data and Interdisciplinary Science. There were also activities such as policy publicity for talent introduction and youth roundtable conferences. Young scholars present exchanged views on the frontier of international science and technology and hot research fields, and comprehensively learned about the latest talent introduction policies and remarkable fruits in this field over recent years.
