The Microbiology Research Team of the Department of Evolution and Ecology, the College of Life Sciences Published the Latest Research Results in International Authoritative Journals

Recently, the microbiology research team of the College of Life Sciences of CNU published a research paper entitled Boletaceae from Shanxi Province of Northern China with Descriptions of Ten New Species online in Mycosphere (Q1, Chinese Academy of Sciences, IF=""""14.6),"""" a famous international journal in the mycology field.

The microbiology research has been committed to the research of macrofungi over the years, and investigated the species diversity of Boletaceae in Shanxi Province through morphological characteristics, polygenic molecular systematic analysis and ecological characteristics. According to the research, there are 25 species of Boletaceae in Shanxi Province, including 10 new species and 16 genera. This research shows that the species diversity of Boletaceae in Shanxi Province has distinct regional characteristics and 52% of the species are found only in Shanxi. Meanwhile, the research found that most Boletaceae species in Shanxi prefer warm climates and grow mainly in broad-leaved forest environments. This result has enriched the diversity of Boletaceae fungi species in China, providing an important basis for the investigation and application of Boletaceae fungus resources in North China.

Professor Fan Li from the College of Life Sciences is the sole corresponding author, Mao Ning, a doctoral student enrolled in 2021, is the first author, and Zhao Taoyu and Zhang Yuxin, master's degree candidates enrolled in 2020 and 2021 respectively, are the co-first authors. This research work has been continuously funded by several successive NSFC general projects.
