On the morning of October 12, amid nationwide celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and as the education sector deeply studies the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the National Education Congress, the 70th Anniversary and High-Quality Development Conference of Capital Normal University (CNU) was grandly held at the North First Campus Gymnasium.

At 10:00 a.m., the ceremony commenced with the solemn rendition of the national anthem. Academician Fang Fuquan, President of Capital Normal University and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech reviewing the university’s developmental journey and summarizing its educational achievements and distinctive characteristics. Sun Shuo, Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality and member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Academician Yu Jihong, President of Beijing Normal University, representatives of alumni, faculty, and students also addressed the audience.

The conference featured the inauguration ceremony of the Future Teachers College. President Fang Fuquan, Mr. Bai Haining (representative of donors), student representatives, and outstanding young faculty representatives in humanities and social sciences jointly unveiled the “Future Education Talent Scholarship and Grant Program” and the “Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Young Faculty Award Fund.” Attendees watched a video presentation titled New Starting Point, New Journey, showcasing the development planning of the Liangxiang Campus.

The event concluded with a chorus of Ode to the Motherland, sung by all participants, marking a successful close to the ceremony.
