On December 5, Evgeny Silyanov, Vice Rector of Moscow City University (MCU), and Oxana Malykh, Head of the Chinese Language Department of MCU, visited Capital Normal University (CNU).

Ma Ligeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President, delivered a welcome speech, outlining the development, school-running achievements and cooperation history between the two universities over recent years. He stressed MCU is CNU's important partner. Both universities have maintained long-term friendly contacts and student exchanges, with a cooperation history of 17 years. He hoped that the two universities could further expand more forms and areas of cooperation and exchanges.

Evgeny Silyanov introduced MCU's school-running characteristics, discipline construction and international cooperation over recent years, and said that CNU is the first university in China to establish cooperation with MCU. Evgeny Silyanov hoped that in the future, both may start from the common ground and chart out more extensive cooperation.

Later on, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on academic research cooperation, joint establishment of research laboratories and international dual-degree cooperation in Chinese education. Ma Ligeng and Evgeny Silyanov signed a new cooperation framework agreement and student exchange agreement on behalf of the two sides, which increased the number of students to be exchanged.
