On December 10, the Inaugural Meeting of the Beijing Educational Research Association & Academic Seminar on Ecological Reconstruction of Basic Education in the Context of Strengthening Education was held.

Niu Qingshan, Chairman of the Beijing City Federation of Social Science Circles, expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the Association. He stressed that the Association should create a favorable academic atmosphere and continuously expand its academic influence by Party building, thus forging ties with members and providing services to facilitate the smooth progress of work.

Miao Jinxiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Capital Normal University (CNU), extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests present at the meeting, instructing that the establishment of the Association marks a key milestone in the construction of education disciplines in the university, and CNU is bound to make efforts for the development of the Association.

Yang Yinfu, Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Education (CSE), expressed sincere congratulations and pointed out CSE is willing to join hands with the Association and CNU for in-depth cooperation, in an attempt to foster the prosperity and development of educational science, the high-quality education system, and make China strong through education.

Li Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the establishment of the Association. He proposed that as a crucial force to promote educational theory innovation and practical reform and accelerate the high-quality development of basic education in Beijing, the Association should make efforts and contribute research strength to building an educational practice ecosystem, strengthening interdisciplinary research cooperation and applied research on new technologies.

Niu Qingshan, Li Yi, Yang Yinfu, Meng Fanhua, Miao Jinxiang and Rong Dali inaugurated the Association together.

At the first general meeting of the Association, Meng Fanhua was elected as the President, Deng Youchao, Shi Zhongying, Zhu Xudong, Liu Fuxing, Yan Fengqiao and Cai Chun as Vice Presidents, Wang Nan as Secretary-general and Wen Dongmao as Chief Supervisor. In the speech, Meng Fanhua assumed that the Association should achieve consensus, build on strengths and functions, and take measures to seek cooperation and answer the question of "what 'building a leading country in education' means" with academic strength.

Gao Baoli, former Vice President and researcher of the National Institute of Education Sciences and former Editor-in-Chief of Educational Research, delivered a keynote speech entitled Research on Building a Powerful Education Country and High-quality Education, which was presided over by Professor Zhang Shuang, Dean of College of Education at Capital Normal University.

In the afternoon, the Academic Seminar on "Ecological Reconstruction of Basic Education in the Context of Strengthening Education" was held. The Seminar came to a successful conclusion after lively discussions and exchanges!
