Recently, the 2023 Mathematical Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) announced the list of winners. CNU’s teams made outstanding performance again, with two winning the Meritorious Winner, eight winning the Honorable Mention and two winning the Successful Participant. CNU sent 35 students in 12 teams to join this contest, which set a new record in the number of participating papers and the number of winning teams.

Hosted by the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Application (COMAP), MCM/ICM is an extensive science and technology activity for college students around the world and an international competition program designed to motivate college students to learn mathematics and improve their comprehensive ability to build mathematical models and solve practical problems with computer technology. Students are encouraged to actively join extracurricular science and technology activities to broaden their knowledge and cultivate their cooperation and innovation spirits. Every year, it attracts more than 10,000 teams from all over the world. This year, 26,112 teams joined it, the largest number in history.
