CNU Won the 2022 Outstanding Contribution Award for Excellent Activities Designed for Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan by Colleges and Universities in Beijing

Recently, the Beijing Higher Education Research Association of the Education and Management of Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan announced the list of excellent activities designed for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan by colleges and universities in Beijing at its 2022 Annual Meeting. CNU won the 2022 Outstanding Contribution Award for Excellent Activities Designed for Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan by Colleges and Universities in Beijing. This is the  consecutive year that CNU has won such awards and the 3time it won the Outstanding Contribution Award after 2018 and 2021.

In 2022, under the firm leadership of the Party Committee of CNU, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, CNU continued to implement the plans designed by the CPC Central Committee and the important directions proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping on Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs and education. Based on the fundamental task to strengthen moral education and cultivate people, it consolidated ideological and political education by adding national conditions to the classes for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Its members also led the application for the 2022 project of the Beijing Higher Education Research Association, with one project approved, aiming to improve CNU’s service and management of students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. CNU continued to improve the quality of education in national conditions and service and management for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and actively built an information-sharing platform to cope with new tasks and challenges.

The Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, CNU actively fulfilled the tasks assigned by the Beijing Higher Education Research Association of the Education and Management of Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It encouraged CNU’s experts and scholars to join the recording of the Truth-Seeking Cloud Lecture, an online lecture program for education in national conditions for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in Beijing, and give lectures on the rule of law in China, which was highly recognized by the higher authorities. It gave full play to its exemplary and leading role while ensuring continuous education in national conditions in the context of regular epidemic prevention and control, and cultivating young talents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the new era.

The Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, CNU, together with other relevant departments of CNU and colleges and departments with students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, has established a national conditions education system for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, including entrance education for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as characteristic courses containing national conditions and social conditions.
