Su Ge Was Hired as CNU International Development Strategy Advisor and Gave a Lecture2021-05-06

  On the afternoon of April 19, Su Ge, former president and Party secretary of the China Institute of International Studies, was invited to give the fourth lecture of Ambassadors on Diplomacy - World Structure and Sino-US Relations. The lecture was hosted by Li Xiaojuan, vice president of CNU.

  Su Ge is the former chairman of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) and the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation of China. He served as the minister-counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in America, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of China to the Republic of Suriname and the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of China to the Republic of Iceland.

  As an expert in international studies, Su Ge has a solid theoretical foundation, rich teaching experience and also authentic diplomatic experience. Combined with his years of theoretical researches and overseas work, Su Ge vividly restores the major events at important time nodes of Sino-US diplomacy. Through longitudinal and transverse analysis of Sino-US relations, his lecture helps all the teachers and students comprehensively understand the development of Sino-US relations in different historical periods and profoundly grasp the rich connotation and extension of the diplomatic strategy for major countries with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and the important role of China in global governance against the backdrop of profound changes unseen in a century.

  Li Xiaojuan said that the loyalty, mission, dedication and contribution spirit shown by diplomats in the international community are worth learning from. She hoped that young students could constantly improve their own abilities, strengthen their will to face difficulties, and strive to be a talented and responsible new generation in the era. She pointed out that international development strategy is one of the three strategies for the development of CNU during the 14th Five Year Plan. All the teachers and students should have a broader vision and international insight, so as to make their contributions in deepening international cooperation and exchanges and improving international education.

  On behalf of CNU, Li Xiaojuan hired Su Ge as the international development strategy advisor of CNU, hoping that Su Ge could provide more guidance on CNU’s international development in the future.
