A collaborative research between CNU and QNU published in Antiquity2021-04-02

  Recently, the collaborative research— New perspectives on the Late Pleistocene peopling of the Tibetan Plateau: the core-and-flake industry from the Tongtian River Valley by Chen Youcheng, associate professor of history at CNU and Hou Guangliang, Professor of geographic science at Qinghai Normal University, were published online by Antiquity, a world-class journal of archaeology.

  The research proposed that the East Asian population migrated to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau through the southeast route in the late Pleistocene, and that the technology, route and driving force they took up the region might be various. With Chen as the primary author and Hou the corresponding author, many a postgraduate and undergraduate from both the CNU School of History and the Geographic Science College of Qinghai Normal University participated in the research. The research project is jointly funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Qinghai Province (2021-ZJ-917), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (41761018), the National Social Science Foundation of China (16CKG004), and the Pan-TPE (XDA2004010101).
