CNU’s Students Band Heading for Taiwan to Attend the Event of “Cultural Exchange Between Cities Across the Strait” and to Hold Concerts2016-07-04

From June 22 to 28, the university student band, invited by the Cultural and Arts Development Promotion Association of Taiwan, and headed by Vice Meng Fanhua with 43 students from 13 colleges (departments), went to Taiwan to attend the event “2016 Cultural Exchange Between Cities Across the Strait—Beijing Week”. The event was jointly sponsored by Taiwan Office, Educational Work Committee, Education Commission and the League Committee of Beijing Municipality.

 

During their stay, the band held specially tailored concerts on the metropolitan stage of Taipei and they jointly held multiple exchange concerts with their counterparts from National Taiwan Normal University, University of Pingtung, and National University of Kaohsiung.

 

On June 23, the “Exchange Concert by Taiwan Normal University and CNU” jump-started the event of the 2016 Cultural Exchange Between Cities Across the Strait—Beijing Week. The event was attended and speeches were made by Vice President Chen Chi-fu of National Taiwan University and Vice President Meng Fanhua of CNU.

 

The CNU band also staged their shows with their counterparts from University of Pingtung and National University of Kaohsiung. Mr. Hsu Poyi did his handwriting “Hand in Hand to Set off Our Dreams”. The CNU band presented their counterparts from University of Pingtung and National University of Kaosiung with T-shirts and floppy disks.

 

On June 27, the band held a specially tailored concert on the metropolitan stage of Taipei.
