Leaders from Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science Visit CNU2016-04-22

On April 21, a group of leaders from the Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science visited CNU. The group was led by the Head of the office, Cui Xinjian. The Party Secretary of the CNU, Zheng E met them and addressed the gathering. The meeting was host by the Vice President, Zhou Jianshe.

 

The meeting reflected on the research and development of Philosophy and Social Science at the CNU during the “12th Five-Year” period. It also introduced the working plan of the “Deepening Program of Philosophy and Social Science Basic Research”, “Development Plan of Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Science” and “Development Plan to Establish a Platform for Scientific Research and Social Service” during the “13th Five-Year” period. Besides, based on the key working areas of the planning office in the “13th Five-Year” period, the meeting also explained the main goal of Philosophy and Social Science development in the next five years. Some of the CNU staff reported to and communicated with the leaders from the planning office about the establishment and development of the research bases.

 

Cui Xinjian acknowledged the  number and quality of the achievements of the CNU on Philosophy and Social Science research. He also brought out three requirements: first, to further discover scientific research potential and connect scientific research with social service and talent training; second, to make best use of the research base on discipline development, incubation of think-tank and attracting talents, meeting the needs of developing China also specifically Beijing and serving the social and economic development of the capital; third, to integrate excellent resources within and outside CNU and set up a collaborative innovative platform. Meanwhile, he demonstrated the working path of the planning office in the “13th Five-Year” period, which was “focusing on key areas, highlighting advantages and aiming at the exact target”.
