CNU Holds the 2015 Beijing University Student Dance Festival--the Aesthetic Education Development Forum2015-11-19

On November 18, the CNU held the 2015 Beijing University Student Dance Festival--the Aesthetic Education Development Forum. The forum was hosted by the Education Committee of the Beijing CPC and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and organized by CNU Teenager Aesthetic Education Research and Development Center. Leaders of the Ministry of Education, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the China Dancer Association, the Party Secretary, Zheng E and the Vice President, Meng Fanhua attended the forum.

 

The purpose of the forum is to implement the Comments on Comprehensively Strengthening the Aesthetic Education in Schools carried out by the General Office of State Council, to display the aesthetic education achievements in Beijing, to reflect on experiences, to discuss methods for aesthetic education and to look forward to the future.

 

The Party Secretary Zheng E addressed on the topic of “A Few Thoughts about Strengthening and Improving Aesthetic Education at CNU”. In her speech, she mentioned the “Four Has” working system that the CNU had developed. The “Four Has” refers to “has discipline support, has a specialized platform, has masters and has contributions”. Besides, CNU has explored a “2 channels, 2 combinations, 2 improvements, 2 services” teaching and practicing working mechanism of aesthetic education. Moreover, she brought out four requirements for aesthetic education at the CNU. Firstly, establish a collaborative work mechanism of aesthetic education involving  everyone. Secondly, cultivate and train talents to meet the needs of developing aesthetic education. Thirdly, improve the scientific research of aesthetic education. Fourthly, fully play an exemplary role in serving the public. Lastly, set up an assessment system for aesthetic education.

 

The Deputy Inspector of the Department of Physical Health and Arts Education of the Ministry of Education, Wan Lijun mentioned that the Comments on Comprehensively Strengthening the Aesthetic Education in Schools was a current document of the highest order of the Government to propel the aesthetic education. Wan Lijun also interpreted the policy from aspects of the guiding ideology, principles, goals and system innovations.

 

Attendees discussed topics of the concept, situation, problems and reforms of dancing, aesthetic education, and the relationship between dancing and aesthetic education. Some universities like the Tsinghua University and the Peking University introduced campus dance class development respectively. The Director of CNU Teenager Aesthetic Education Research and Development Center, Shi Hong published 2015 Academic Consensus of the Beijing University Student Dance Festival—the Aesthetic Education Development Forum.

 

To sum up, the Vice President Meng Fanhua said that the forum had explained theoretically the aesthetic values, acknowledged the instructing and guiding role that aesthetic education played and practically discussed the valuable impact that the dancing aesthetic education had on human development.
