A Summit Meeting was Held by the Center for Capital Education Development, Co-ordination and Original Creativity at CNU2015-06-30

On June 26, a summit meeting “on the Co-ordinated Development of Education in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei” was jointly hosted by the CNU’s Center for Capital Education Development, Co-ordination and Original Creativity with universities and colleges, science research institutions, middle and primary schools, and government organizations from Beijing-Tian-Hebei. Speeches were delivered at the forum by Sun Xiaobin, director of Policies and Regulations Division of the Ministry of Education, Xian Lianping, Director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Party Secretary Zheng E. The opening session was chaired by President Gong Huili. Also present at the forum were over 150 participants like professionals and scholars, principals from middle and primary schools, and leaders from various government bodies from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

 

The summit meeting was centered around themes for discussion such as “Background and Plans for Co-ordinated Development Strategies in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei”, “Changes in Social Economy and Human Resources under the Co-ordinated Development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei”, “Position and Function of Education in the Co-ordinated Development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei”, ”Content and Emphasis of Education in its Co-ordinated Development”, “Mode of Co-ordinated Development and Managing Mechanism in Education”, and “Strategy of Co-ordinated Development in Education”.

 

The forum was elaborated in four sections, each chaired by a different expert. The participating leaders addressed the special topics on theory and practice in the co-ordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, while experts and scholars carried out dialogues and research into the content, mode, managing mechanism and related strategies in the co-ordinated development of education in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

 

A common understanding of the meeting was announced at the forum: First, efforts should be made to create and expand quality education through original creativity in an attempt to facilitate fairness in education and improve educational quality. Secondly, try to better understand the necessity of prioritizing educational development so as to ensure the supply of quality human resources and to provide students more “better learning” opportunities. Thirdly, efforts should be prompt a win-win situation where positioning and planning from the perspectives of national strategic height, all relevant parties benefit from one another on advantages they possess. Fourthly, governing bodies, schools on various levels, educational research institutions and social organizations from these three regions should establish educational co-ordinated mechanism in order to enact education management reform and improve educational management capabilities. Fifthly, Beijing should, putting co-ordinated development as its guiding principle, establish an integrated structure and structure from basic education to advanced education, and from general education to professional education, so as to formulate a grand educational system in which education quality is hooked up with its beneficial outcome. Sixthly and lastly, an educational co-ordinated development research institute in the three regions should be established to facilitate the contacts among universities, research institutions, government organizations and middle and primary schools by setting up educational resources sharing and policy consultation co-ordination mechanism.
