Ministry of Education published the list of distinguished professor and chair professor for the year 2013 and 2014, following procedures from university recommendation, evaluation, debate, public announcement, review by the review committee through to the signing of contract. Professor from College of History was selected into the new batch of Yangtze scholar incentive plan and is hired as distinguished professor. Professor Li now serves as the director of editing division of university newspaper.

“Yangtze scholar incentive plan”, as an important part of the national major talent project, constitutes national high-level talent development and support system together with “overseas high-level talent introduction plan” and “young talent development plan”. It places emphasis on both talent development and introduction. It adopts the same conditions, platforms and standards to nurture and attract outstanding scholars. The 2013 and 2014 Yangtze scholar incentive plan has listed 378 distinguished and chair professors.
