He is a well-known expert of world contemporary history and the history of international relationship. He is one of the founders of China World Contemporary History Study. He is well-established in China and enjoys certain fame abroad. He has attended international academic conference for many times as representative of the world of History in China. He is a man of intellectual breadth and has insightful and original ideas in the field of contemporary history of international relationships, world contemporary history and the methods of historiography. With higher level of Marxist theory, rich knowledge and rigorous scholarship, he has found his own way in concrete and precise academic researches. He has written dozens of theses and has edited, written and translated more then ten works and textbooks. He has also been granted of award ship that is above province-level or department-level.
