| 40 Projects Supported by National Natural Science Foundation in 2011 |
Lately, the Committee of the National Natural Science Foundation released the appraisal results of the 2011 National Natural Science Foundation projects. Capital Normal University was granted a funding of 22.05 million yuan for its 40 National Natural Science Funding projects. Professor Zhang Peng from the College of Mathematics gained special funds for the project of fundamental research of scientific instruments, which is the first of its kind. Professor Gong Huili and Professor Xu Xingzhi from the College of Resource Environment and Tourism each secured a key project. Seven professors, including Ren Dong, Li Legong, Yan Yueming, Fang Fuquan, Wu Ke, Xu Xingzhi, Gong Huili, have seized key projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation by now Capital Normal University has filed 140 projects for the National Natural Science Foundation by the end of August, 2011, among which 40 were approved, including 2 key projects, 1 project of fundamental research of scientific instruments, 1 joint funding project, 17 general projects, and 19 young scientist projects. These projects are distributed in different colleges and departments, with 8 projects (1 project of fundamental research of scientific instruments included) at the College of Mathematics, 4 at the Department of Physics, 3 at the Department of Chemistry, 9 (1 key project embraced) at the College of Life Science, 8 (1 key project contained) at the College of Resource Environment and Tourism, 6 at the College of Information Engineering, and 2 at the College of Education (the Department of Psychology).
