Born in July of 1956, Mr. He is a Doctor of Physiology, professor and PhD instructor.

Main social titles: board director of China Plant Science Association (since 2003); deputy board director of Botanical Society of China (since 2011); member of the Appraisal Crew on the Committee of National Natural Science Foundation of China (2006-2010); member of Expert Committee on the third specialty Development and Professional Installment (2011-2014); deputy director member of the Supervision Committee on the Teaching of Biological Course (2013-2017); editing member of Botanic Science (since 2007) and member of the academic committee “of the important lab for northern plants of the Chinese Academy of Sciences”(since 2011).

Mr. He studies at Nanchong Teachers’ College (now China West Normal University) in February of 1982. Between the years of 1988 and 1995, he got bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and PhD from Northeast Normal University during different periods of time. Between 1996 and 1998, he conducted his post-doctoral research at Institute of Genetics and Development Biology of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1999, aided by the STA Fellowship, he was invited as a visiting professor to the research center of bio-technologies in Japan. He went to Duke University of the USA as a visiting scholar in 2003. And he has been working at the Biology Department of CNU, appointed as Dean of the Life Science Institute between 1999 and 2008.

Over the years, he has been engaged in multiple projects such as the projects of (973) and 863, important projects of the state, and some (Class B) projects by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has made a series of academic achievements in the research of adverse response of plant cells. He has published over 50 papers and presentations in academic journals like Science, PNAS, Cell Research, Plant Physiology, Molecular Plant, etc. Invited by the “Science Publishing House”, he compiled Cellular Biology, a new century textbook by teachers college (published in 2009). He was awarded secondary prize twice for educational and teaching achievements of Beijing Municipality in 2005 and 2009. He won the title of “Advanced Achievers of Beijing” in 2005. In 2006, he was assessed as outstanding innovator of Beijing and won the Famous Teacher Award of Institutes of Higher Learning in Beijing.
